Evans is a young man in his thirties who works as a fasion designer, in New York City.
One day, a nurse suggested some natural medications to help him fall asleep more easily
Because he struggle with insomnia.The issue appeared to be resolved at first, but a few weeks later,
Evans learned that this medication had a side effect called somnombulism.
Through its somnombulism crisis, Evans found a different way to design outside of his awake, daytime hours.
The collection's idea centers on the line separating our perception of reality
From how our subconscious might change the picture we create of it, like in the case of dreams.
By focusing on the intersection of perspective and perception,
The surrealist movement plays a significant part in the collection.
Inspiration-
Most of the references in the collection are derived from images or movies.
Since 1989, Troy Paiva has been taking nighttime photographs as a light painting photographer.
His light painting photography, which he describes as a picture project that plays between light and obscurity, is a result of his interest for exploring the ruins of "Lost America." He calls himself a "Urban Explorer."
The portrait of Travis Owen, another photographer who draws inspiration from extreme color contrast, demonstrates how this effort informed the research for the collection.
The collection's aesthetics were also influenced by Hong Kong filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer Wong Kar-Wai, whose film Fallen Angels or Happy Together featured the collection. The Mcgloughlin brothers, David Lynch were also a part of my designs research for their color pallet and their movie effects.
Finally, a playlist has been created for this collection with artist as Wax Tailor to go deeper in details of the project.
Process-
In order to develop some more basic patterns that correspond to the times when Evans is experiencing a somnombulism crisis and when he is not, the collection's technique involved experimenting with melting cuts and pair outfits. In fact, to distinguish that era, one section is made up of cool, serene hues, while the other is centered on vibrant, lively hues that produce a striking contrast across the entire ensemble.
